Just a bit of feedback for everyone about the Schools project
Tim Spivey kindly offered to host the Tuxedu iso's as we need to move
them from the hosting originally given to us by the vinux team - so
thanks for that Tim, the move is in progress at the moment.
The main tuxedu.org site is hosted by Kevin and Heather - thanks to them
as well for the free space.

At the meeting there was quite a long discussion about the problem of
getting 'ordinary' users to try Tuxedu or any Linux OS using a USB stick
- the main stumbling block being creating the stick and booting from it
as this is quite daunting for many people. There are clear how-to's and
a video on the tuc#xedu site but you still have to work out which key to
press.
Kevin suggested compiling a list of PC's and Laptops and the keys you
need to use to enter the boot menu and/or Bios to change the boot order
- he is investigating the possibility of an android app which could give
you the correct key or key combo for your machine.
In the mean time here are some bios key lists - I don't know how
accurate they are

does anyone know of any other lists?

it might be a useful start if HLUG members could tell us details for
their machines -

We also discussed looking at getting some funding for purchase of a
stock of USB sticks for the project so that we have a stock ready for
the next school or organisation who want them - the sticks would be
purchased at cost and the funds used to buy more USB sticks so the
project is self financing. Our experience at Fownhope was that teachers
and parents were happier to spend a few pounds buying the sticks rather
than burn their own copies.

If you have any ideas for programs that should be included in Tuxedu
that we have missed please let us know.

We are also on the lookout for some better graphics for Tuxedu - so if
you or anyone you know can help us that would be great
