At the lug meeting we are discussing ocr applications. For Pete's reference
the one i mentioned as of interest is http://www.watchocr.com
which is a server/network web enabled app to create text readable PDF's
from PDFs created with just an image or just jpg image files

Well worth a look as its installable as a.deb file or as a livecd, quick
way to get it up and running
