Hi George,
I just tried to install Ubuntu Studio on one of my Zombie boxes, and get
caught out on the low latency kernel - engineered to make real time
audio editing possible and no use at all in a graphics context -which is
what I was after. :(
Apart from that, after installation ( from a downloaded CD iso) and
running updates, it would not run any additiional apps despite claiming
it had installed them. Also it refused to recognise the extra drive,
either at install or from any tools later.
I give up, and will be wiping the drives and installing a reliable KDE
distro and the graphics apps.
I too am impressed by the potential in these IBM laptops...
