[HLUG] Guest wifi login system

I'd like a system in my house where guests login to the wifi
(and network cables and guest pcs)
with their email addresses
(like at mcdonalds)
so i have a way to limit them from using all my bandwidth etc,

do i need extra hardware or can this be done with software and router 
switches?
