Restic talks B2 itself so RClone isn't required here. My test indicate it's
pretty fast and as fast as the uploads allow.

Restic encrypts the data itself, I'm not relying on B2 to encrypt the data.

Fair point. Interestingly Backblaze do publish data on their hard disk
performance which is useful to see how different drive manufacturers
perform according to their warranty.

Backups are also stored onsite on a separate drive.

Yes these services can be pretty useful which some safeguards in place
