[Herts] Anyone got Firewire/DV working with Linux?

To reply to my own query, I got it working last night. It may have been
a cable problem. I need to investigate further into preserving the
settings I changed with modprobe and also how to get it to work for
users other than root.

That's another nail in Window's coffin. I can do almost everythng I want
to from Linux now.
