Evening all,
(reply - evening officer)
The info-point at Scatchard Sports Centre in Morley on Sunday went well
again.
With a full compliment of staff, we were able to take on more newbies to
computing, not just Linux.
Well done again to James for the excellent kit on display. And to Chi,
Eric and Neil who lulled people into the stand and thrust a hot copy of
Linux into their hand - I think we gave away around 50 CDs.
I can't make the next fair, and might be a doubt for the one after that.
However I think I'll be gunning for the cause after that.
Interestingly, we now have a source for cheap - around 25 quid - cases
(including cables and PSU) for the USB hard-drive boxen (they take a 3.5"
HDD).
They work out of the box with stock kernels (as we proved on the stand)
and give you a decent amount of removable storage.
If you want one, email 'Graham Teal' at 'returnmail at tealy.com', let him
know you're from WYLUG - there was talk of discount - but I can't say
for definat, but it's worth a shot...
Have fun.
Rob S.
