The problem is that goes against the whole concept of having a wiki, and 
if someone is prepared to spend the time defacing the site they're 
probably also willing to sign up for an account. wikipedia.org allows 
anonymous editing despite the fact that people rampantly abuse the 
feature, it's just something you unfortunately have to accept when 
putting a wiki on the web.
