[Infopoint] Unofficial InfoPoint

Evening,

We've been approached by Jamie's Computer Club[1] to run an InfoPoint at
one of their sales. The "club" is a project run by the Society of St.
James, a charity for homeless people, which holds regular sales of
second-hand and recycled computer equipment. One of the members of our
LUG is involved with them on a volunteer basis, and many LUG members
turn up to their sales to pick up everything from MIPS boxes to PIII
server units. In atmosphere, it is very much like a computer fair,
except with slightly older kit. The sales are also frequented by a lot
of the local student population.

As we're still waiting confirmation of a table for the computer fair on
29th of this month (and this looks unlikely, from what I understand),
this opportunity has proven a good target for us to work towards. What
we are doing is documented here:

Those members that have volunteered are looking forward to it, and I
hope if this one is successful we'll be able to encourage more people
from the LUG (or other related FLOSS bodies) to contribute.

Tony
