I've voted 1 for Mandrake and 1 for Gentoo.

I started with Mandrake 2 years ago and is perfect for beginnners, then moved 
to Gentoo when I had enough experience.

My wife's machine has had Mandrake 10 for the last year, but will be changeing 
that to Gentoo over Xmas.
