Following the poll for best beginners Linux I tried to install Mandrake
onto my system. It failed because I needed to install a kernal first.
I'm not sure how this is done so I left it for the time being and
reverted to Fedora Core 3.

Having used the Red Hat Network update my system I now find I have three
fc3 kernals in my machine.

I've looked for information on installing and removing kernals but
without success. I suspect it's one of those easy tasks where you don't
realise a beginner needs to be talked through the first attempt.

I did have the idea of running Fedora and Mandrake along with Windows as
a triple boot system but they both seem to need a / root partition.

Happy New Year
Peter
