[Klug-general] Why no USB (camera)

It's a Vivitar 3786. Using Knoppix Linux, I just plug it in, mount it 
and open a photo with The Gimp or something. With FC3 Kudzu finds it but 
it doesn't appear in Hardware Browser (hwbrowser). It's a simple vfat 
file system. Gphoto2 doesn't show my camera on the working computer so 
that doesn't help.

The problem seems to start when FC3 should start locating the camera as 
/dev/sda1.
