Hi Matt and welcome to KLUG.
I have a Sony SRX77 laptop running Ubuntu 6.06 beautifully.
Everything works including the on board wireless. Infact Ubuntu runs
better than Windows from a fresh install, as Windows needs lots of
drivers, but Ubuntu found everything.

This laptop is a 3lb P3 800Mhz, 256Mb, 20BG device with a small
screen. It cost over $1300 when I got it back in 2001 so you might
find some knocking around ebay a lot cheaper. I would definately
recommend one.

Best of luck laptop hunting

Colin
