It is a correction, apart form at 50 quid a pop, you are certain any IBM
you buy is going to be an IBM at this stage and not a lenevo, as the
lenevos haven't been on the market long enough :p

Meeting up with about 40 UK debian developers was surreal, I walked in
to find some 20 plus IBM x40 laptops, in use, with a small number of
Mac's mixed in. Never seen so many IBM's in one place all being used.

The MAC's fail IMHO, for the following reasons:

1) 1 mouse button
2) Track pad rather than nipple
3) to big
4) designed to run MacOS X, which I don't like
5) built more for eye candy than use IMHO
6) White - WHY GOD WHY? Black is much nicer :p
7) There was a 7th reason then the phone rang and I can't remember what
I was going to write.
8) Saying anything against a mac makes my housemate squirm.

Ultimately its all a question of taste, and its all a matter of choice,
which we are all open to use what we want. There is no forcing. All my
machines are pretty low power, I have a 700Mhz Athlon for a desktop, and
as such the graphics bloat of eyecandy is a waste, not to mention why
waste screen real estate on things like a doc, window title bar's, thick
borders etc... I use EvilWM as my window mangler of choice, I use vi for
my editor. There may be a connection.

Anyway, this is going off topic. Back to how great IBM laptops are :p
