Ah, under top I can see beagled and beagled-helper popping up and taking 
up some cycles and then disappearing again. This is happening over and 
over again and coincides with the disk light coming on.
Isn't beagle something new in Mandriva2007F - a bit like the kat earlier?
If it isn't really necessary could someone suggest (in simple steps for 
this bear of little brain) how to disable it permanently.
