a) it doesn't need an entirely new player

b) its not 1% of computers

c) the bbc is a publically funded organisation with a legal mandate to
provide services without descrimination. The iPlayer is equivilent to
them deciding to only support Sony televisions as they are the most
popular.

d) there is more, but I haven't slept in far to long, and will respond
fully later.
