Well i use gnome mainly but pull in several kde apps - notably konqueror, Amarok and smb4k. I used to run kde /kubuntu on my server as i found it easier to set up things like shares. I find gnome pretty much does what I need. I also use icewm on my laptop after trying fluxbox for a good while and finding i didn't get on with it.
