The whole point is that Mandriva is supplying the goodies, and 
publicising the events, to tie in with the release of Mandriva 2008. 
I doubt if Mandriva would be willing to do this if we were promoting 
a competitor's product at the event.

If people want to hold an Ubuntu event instead, fine. Get Canonical 
to pay for the goodies and the publicity.
