Thank you for that. I'd been there and done that but it was only when I 
received your email that I remembered that I hadn't su'd to root.

Doh!

Like I say - age.

Thanks for all the help. It all now works and I can read the 
MSOffice2007 (ptoo!) stuff I keep receiving from a colleague.
