That's modest abuse.

One of my clients is an engineering cnc machining workshop. As well as
mechanical abuse, Thinkpads will also survive splashed coolant, metal
swarf, grinding dust, and have done for a good number of years. Anything
else only lasts weeks.

Though I don't recommend anyone to try all that at home........
