[Klug-general] kentlug.org progress report

OK folks - this is where we are so far:

1. Mike handed over the kentlug.org domain to me (also Mike just to
confuse matters)
2. Julia arranged for us to have a virtual server at ContextShift
3. I've set up a few people as administrators on it so that if I get
hit by a bus, a Polish lorry on the M25, or just loose interest you
still have a way to get stuff done.
4. Oly has installed the openarena server on it. This took a little bit
of jiggling as we had to update the version of libc6. Anyway it runs
and Oly managed to frag me in about 20 seconds!
5. I've installed Apache2 and uploaded a very simple website as a place
marker. We're not currently thinking of running a great and glorious
website, so it points back at our main one on kent.lug.org.uk.
6. I set up the DNS server for the domain on Friday and that has
propagated. I have just (Sunday) put the server's IP address into it,
so again that could take 48 hours to propagate. In the meantime if you
want to have a look you can see it at:
	klug.contextshift.co.uk

Next Steps:

1. Dan - once kentlug.org is resolving to the server please put a link
from the main lug site.
2. Oly - the games page is a place holder. Could you edit it, or let
me have some better content so that it's got some helpful content for
people wanting to play?
3. To get the Mumble server up we probably need to upgrade the debian
distribution we are using. Oly and I will sort that between us.
4. I'm no website designer, so if someone is willing/able to provide
something better than my amateur layout: please step forward.
5. Any further suggestions welcome.

Mike E
