I'd like to point out that respect is something earned not given gratis.
When people have tried in the past to insult you via sly, underhanded, and
libelous comments, they do not deserve my respect. There are only a few
members of this list I respect, those people have earned my respect in the
past. And of course, I don't give two hoots if someone respects me or not,
I have plenty of respect from my peers and colleagues already.

Also, I've never in all my years developing with other people, found people
who are so god damned sensitive to the slightest jibe. There's a lot of
insulting goes on online (I've just seen one this minute on another mailing
list, and it was nicely put, with nice profanity too, oh did i mention that
was a corporate mailing list). klug should be casual and not so anally
retentive. However, the only reason I'm still subscribed to this list is
because colin threatened to resubscribe me if I left... And I couldn't hold
in my right to rub JD's face in the debian bug. After all of her posturing
in the past, all of the completely nonsensical argument for debian, I see
my moment and act on it.

Mind having said that, never in my years traveling, conferencing, and
socialising have I ever met anyone so sensitive as the people in kent...
Even in my former job people were devoid of humor, devoid of in-formality
or, to put it another way, so stuck up their own arses they hadn't seen
daylight in years. Some people on this list share that trait also, anywhere
else in the world people have thicker skins, can take things on the chin
and move on.

And of course I like to provide entertainment by showing up immovable
people.

Evolve or die, huh!

BR, :)
 K,

PS. If swearing was illegal in open source then you shouldn't find as many
fucks as you do in the kernel source code... Didn't you know code quality
is measured in "what the fucks" per minute?
