That is because the postcode to location database is proprietary
information. This is why such projects as
http://www.freethepostcode.org/ have sprung up to try and make our own
database of postcodes to locations.

It isn't ideal, or complete. But it is something that is intrinsically
linked to the likes of Openstreet Map.

Perhaps we could work on this when we are doing our streetmapping.

Whilst on the topic of cartographical wonders. KLUG has been looking for
a project, something we can work on and easily contribute to the
communittee. Perhaps the likes of free the postcode and OpenStreetmap
could be a better candidate than a documentation project?

Incidentally one of the KLUGgers (Mike_H!) is quite knowledgable on the
subject of post codes and freethepostcode, so might be able to advise us
better.
