there are two points here though:

firstly the site uses boost, this means that it is actually serving up 
static cached pages

secondly - I built an ubuntu hardy server vm with 128meg of ram on 
vmware server 2 and transfered a copy of the site to it and it's running 
fine - not as speeedy as some sites granted but perfectly acceptable
