Yes, that makes sense. Well done on getting that lot sorted.

What exactly did you do to the .deb from ledgersmb? if the file is a .deb
file, then all you should need to do is: dpkg -i ledgersmb_1.2.17-1_all.deb

There is no unpacking involved, this isn't a tar file.
