[Klug-general] Dongle

Our house has recently switched from a fixed line to a wireless internet
connection. I am told I need a "dongle" (I think) in order to be able
access this from my desktop. I have also been warned that not all of
these beasts work well with Linux.
I use OpenSuse 11.1.
Which dongles can't I use? Can anyone recommend one that will play
nicely with OpenSuse?
What do I have to do once I get my dongle? I can probably cope with
opening the packet, turning on the computer and finding both the USB
port and YAST. I can also get a console up if I need to use the command
line. But after that I'll need detailed instructions, being a "bear of
very little brain" (Winnie-the-Pooh in case you're wondering) when it
comes to computers.
Thanks for any help that you can give me,
Peace
Philippe
