The issue isn't about the relevance ot the topic, IMHO, the topic is very
relevant to the list.

The problem is, rather than starting a new thread, you hit reply to an old
one and just changed the subject line, this messes with threaded email
something chronic.

If you view the headers of an email, you will find a line like:

In-Reply-To: <4A9CEE5C.7010604 at gmail.com>

This tells the email clients what the mail is actually relevant to,
allowing them to sort the emails by thread.

Something people rarely realise about email is it isn't a descrete set of
messages, but a collected series. Each series being a thread in it's own
right (Tho a thread can be only 1...).

This makes it very important when starting a new thread, to actually start
a new thread, not just hit reply to an old one...
