[Klug-general] mod_perl

I have to reconfigure apache to incorporate mod_perl. On the apache website it tells you to run perl Makefile.PL from the mod_perl-1.31/ directory and this 'should' recompile apache with mod_perl. However when I run Makefile.PL it asks first for the location of the apxs file, then for the location of the apache directory. It then proceeds to fail, complaining that it can't open some file there.
