The cups-pdf project looks good. Something that if you need to generate PDF
files in an office environment. And as an "almost anything" to PDF
converter.

For report generating there is a project, OpenRPT which looks good:
http://www.xtuple.com/openrpt

Data Vision (No recent activity, but perhaps it has reached a point of
stability that can be worked with) also looks interesting:
http://datavision.sourceforge.net/index.html

Jaspersoft (Community and business offerings) create more complicated
reporting models, probably more advanced than your requirements but if you
need something more complicated this might be it. http://www.jaspersoft.com/
Another (Community and business) offering is: http://reporting.pentaho.com/
