monthly meets to a Network of smaller local groups, that communicate and
work together and have fewer bigger meets once a quarter.
Also the Lug has grown into many other fields than just plain Linux (I
can't actually remember a meet when we've just discussed the Kernel)
My problem has always been not want to spend a whole
weekend travelling across the county to a meeting partially when my weekend
are taken up with Family activities already. and I'm not sure if there will
be lots of people there or just 3 or 4 as has happened at times.
With the BarCamp in Canterbury later this month (which last year even they
were surprised how many Luggers came to it), Maker Groups in Medway,
Broadstairs and Canterbury, the CompEng group at Greenwich there is a
wealth of small simular local groups and from what I can see the Lugs
strength is linking everything together and allowing all the small local
groups to communicate properly and enable wider information sharing....
I think the issue is how we allow the Lug to evolve with time.
By doing this we can gather a larger group people all with
different interests and communication groups county wide.....
Just my ideas and nothing against what's happened in the past just ideas on
how to go forward.
Peter.
