[Klug-general] OT EPIK (Encouraging Programming in Kent ) competition now Live!

The EPIK team would like to announce that the first 2012 EPIK Kent 
competition in Software Design and Development for those aged 16 - 24  
is now live, prize fund comprising of £1000 and 2 memberships to the BCS 
(British Computer Society).

The 6 finalists will have the opportunity to do a live demo to a room 
full of employers from the Kent IT, Technology and Games industry to 
demonstrate their skills at our Gala event on the 4th September.
Top 2 finalists will each receive £400 and a membership to the BCS 
(British Computer Society).
3rd prize will go to the best creative project proposal and receive £200 
with the opportunity for it to go into development.

The EPIK team has amassed a range of resources at 
http://epik.org.uk/resources including a helpDesk system to get people 
started at being creative and winning not only the cash but the 
opportunity to work in the Kent IT industry sector with professionals 
that have the skills and passion for their industry to really make a 
difference and add value to a young person career prospects, including 
in some cases continuing on to HE doing a part time degree! Read all

Please we need your help to spread the word so more young people get to 
take part, there is at least 70 IT/Technology Companies coming to the 
Gala finals, that's a lot of potential employers who would like to 
explore the option of taking on IT apprentices and mentoring them into 
the industry on their own doorstep!
