imho the best gui for mysql is 'mysql workbench'.

very easy to use and very powerful. You probably won't be able to connect
to your server with port 3306 but workbench lets you set up a ssh tunnel.

as for search the database you can just use grep on a dump of the database
if you know roughly what you're looking for.
