Hi Kieron,

I'm a hobbyist Linux user too, but a lot of people on here use it
professionally (or have done). Good luck with Ubuntu!

Multiplayer is quite good in Distance, if there's servers online...
but it's quite easy to host a server too, and there's usually a few
people online, but not big numbers. The level editor is pretty good
and not as daunting as it looks after watching a ten minute tutorial
video.
