Right. Mid-debate, a little explanation goes a long way.
The points you make are valid; I wasn't looking at it from the right angle,
I think because I usually help people who already *are* at least somewhat
technical - or completely fresh people who haven't already had the GUI-over-CLI
indoctrination ex-Windows users all seem to suffer from.
For an installfest targeted specifically at non-technical Windows users,
your policy is absolutely correct - but it's always nice to know *why* it's
correct before you commit yourself to a path, and a little devil's
advocation helps there.
If you feel I've wasted your time, sorry; I certainly don't feel mine's been
wasted. However, you might like to actually post your last reply to the
list so everybody else's isn't :)
