There should be a cable going between one set of pins on the motherboard
to a similar set of pins on the drive. What kind of cable depends on
what kind of drive you bought - could you look at it and say what the
connectors (at one end) look like? (or else send a photo to the list,
showing the drive and the motherboard of the laptop.)
