Hi Rik,
There are other venues we could consider, but I would rather have a
space where we can set up a few computers and a small network
permanently rather than everyone having to bring laptops (not everyone
has one). Also, if we want to do demos with maybe a video projector, I'm
not sure how this would work in somewhere like a cafe. An upstairs room
at the Gregson is a possibility though - we could get hold of some
second hand laptops and leave them there to be brought out when we meet.
The basement also has the advantage of being free to hire.
