[Lancaster] fortnightly skill share evenings

Personally, I don't like the idea, because it would mean that people in
the group would have to join Facebook so as not to miss out on what was
going on. I don't like Facebook myself, and haven't joined it - mainly I
don't like the way that they won't let you see anything on the site
until you've joined yourself, which puts pressure on people to join just
to keep up with what their friends are doing. So they are kind of riding
on the back of peoples' friendship networks in order to spread their own
empire.
Also, the way they run things is pretty much counter to the spirit of
what people are trying to do with free / open source software, so I
think we shouldn't be supporting it. E.g. it is hard to move your data
off sites like this if you decide that you want to switch to another
provider or run your own blog.
Please don't take this personally - it's just my opinion, but it is the
way I feel about it.
