Position: Junior Computer Systems Administrator
Location: Old Street, London EC2A

Salary: 23k-28k
Fotango (www.fotango.com), a Canon Company, is seeking to employ a
JUNIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to assist in the running of various
computer systems. These systems include many Linux kernel based
operating systems, plus Microsoft Windows 2000 & XP, and Apple Macintosh
10.3. Familiarity with installing, patching, upgrading, and launching
general desktop office like products is definitely required (eg,
Microsoft Office suites, Adobe products, etc). A knowledge of MS Windows
Update and various anti-virus solutions is also advantageous. The ideal
candidate has an appreciation of Open Source software, and a desire to
be a system administrator.
This role will be trained internally by the more senior systems
administrator to adopt best practises as currently used. It is envisaged
that this role is suitable for a new graduate, although prior experience
may also be recognised as well or in place of formal IT qualifications.
The ideal candidate lives within a 45 minute commute of the Old Street
tube station, and is able to perform some work outside of standard
business hours (9am - 6pm BST).

years. Knowledge of other Unix-like operating systems (eg, IBM AIX) is
desirable.
The ideal candidate is proficient with diagnosing system failures
(hardware, software and network), and is fastidious in implementing
system monitoring and reporting.
An ability to read and understand intermediate Perl scripts is an
advantage, as is a willingness to learn.
