Tiger Computing, a leading supplier of Linux support and consultancy
services, has a vacancy for a Linux Support Consultant working from
our offices near Coleford, Gloucestershire. This is a wide-ranging
role that involves working with customers on a daily basis and
includes supporting customers' servers, monitoring and resolving
problems before they become serious, providing ad-hoc consultancy,
building and maintaining servers, and assisting with the design of new
services. The work is about 80% office based and 20% at customers'
premises. There is no Windows work associated with this role. The
successful candidate will have:

    * excellent written and verbal communications skills
    * a "can do" attitude

Ideally they will also have experience of:

    * Linux system management 
    * common programming/scripting languages
    * networks
    * working with customers
    * common Linux server applications (SMTP, POP3/IMAP, spam and
      antivirus scanning, Apache, firewalls, Samba, VPNs, databases,
      etc)

and could be full time or part time. Salary will be dependent upon
