Job Description

Our Client a growing Hosting Company require an experienced Linux Hosting
Team Member who is capable of growing with the company in the future as the
company develops.

 

The right candidate will need to be willing to fulfil the requirements of a
technical support and sales role, whilst growing into the Systems
Administrator responsibilities of a busy, growing Hosting Company making
full use of hardware and virtualised solutions.

 

You must be capable under pressure, able to provide excellent customer
service despite any issues that may be occurring with the ability to work
hard within a constantly changing work load and environment. Some proven
Customer Support experience is essential!

 

The ability to communicate effectively is very important – the majority of
contact with customers is via email or live chat so you would need to be
able to demonstrate high standards of both spoken and written communication
skills.

 

Technical Skills

 

Linux/Unix Knowledge – essential. My client uses CentOS as their hosting
platform, So a working knowledge of a Linux/Unix platform, preferably
CentOS, is required.

 

Experience of Apache, MySQL, PHP, Lightspeed – knowledge of any or all of
these would be preferable.  Some coding, design or development knowledge
would help immensely with regards to troubleshooting many client issues.

 

Some knowledge of Virtualisation technologies (Parallels Virtuozzo) – OpenVZ
would be an acceptable substitute, any knowledge of clustered or load
balanced environments would be a bonus.
