Hi all,

I am looking for an experienced Linux Kernel Software Engineer on behalf of my client in central London to play a key role in the design and development of an innovative new product aimed at delivering a huge leap forward in scalability, stability and performance. This software house has been actively recruiting over the last few months and are now looking for an additional Linux Kernel Engineer to work alongside an exceptionally highly skilled team of 15 engineers. You will be working on design and implementation of some of the core algorithms that are at the heart of the product. It's not going to be an easy job by any means but if you're looking for a challenging Linux kernel role which will stretch your problem solving skills to the limit then it could be just what you have been looking for. As well as development you will also be involved in writing unit tests, debugging and coming up with innovative new ideas to improve performance. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally bright (probably, but not necessarily, demonstrated by a strong academic background) with an aptitude for problem solving and strong C programming skills on Linux. You will need proven Unix or Linux kernel development experience, ideally file system and/or block layers. You should have a good knowledge of Unix or Linux operating system architectures, data structures and concurrency. It is also likely that you will be active in the open source community and will have an awareness of open source development tools.
