SOFTWARE ENGINEER (C, PYTHON)

Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire

Type: Permanent


The role:

You would be assisting in the development of user friendly, cutting edge
Linux based storage appliances designed primarily for the video
industry. The role will involve both programming and some interaction
with hardware system development and performance enhancements.


Key responsibilities:

      * Maintaining django based web interfaces and python based
        infrastructure
        
      * Helping build storage servers to specification
        
      * Troubleshooting assorted technical issues
        
      * Occasionally assisting with installations on client site
        
      * Helping design and build performance testing utilities


Skills and experience:

      * Experience of Python and C development on Linux
        
      * Experience of web development technologies (Django, Javascript,
AJAX a plus)
        
      * Familiarity with SQL (MySQL would be an advantage)
        
      * Experience of using Linux (Mac experience a plus)
        
      * Enthusiastic about Linux and a keen interest in improving
overall system
        performance
