Hi all,

We (University of Oxford) are looking for a Linux systems
administrator who is also competent with web systems (Apache, Drupal,
...) and databases (MySQL), enjoys variety and responsibility, and
would be interested in working in a scientific environment. Job

Here's an excerpt from the job spec:

The Worldwide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) is a
high-profile global research network, and its information systems are
critical to the delivery of its mission to mitigate the risks of
anti-malarial drug resistance. This position therefore has a key role,
having direct responsibility for delivering WWARN’s information
systems and maintaining the highest possible service levels for all
WWARN’s members and collaborators.

The role will primarily involve managing servers (both physical
in-house and cloud-based), Linux operating systems, databases, content
management systems, web servers and Java servlet containers, and
managing the web applications we develop and deploy on that
infrastructure. The role will also involve design and implementation
of system-wide security policies, negotiation of service agreements
with third parties, and strategic planning to support future research
activities.

The WWARN Informatics team is looking for a dedicated Systems and
Database Administrator, to take responsibility for the deployment,
administration and successful operation of all WWARN’s information
systems and underpinning databases, operating systems and
servers. This includes web-based systems like the www.wwarn.org
website, online data exploration and visualisation tools like WWARN
Explorer (www.wwarn.org/explorer), and secure online data submission
and repository systems (https://www.wwarn.org/repository).

This position will be based in Oxford, in the Kwiatkowski group at the
Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics (WTCHG).

Any questions, feel free to get in touch.

Best wishes,

Alistair
