We are hiring for two jobs one senior Linux Administrator (35-45) and
one junior (25-35) based in Wakefield. The job description is below

Job Description:*
You will be reporting to our Senior/Junior Linux System Administration.
This position is responsible for installation, configuration,
maintenance and monitoring of all Linux systems.
This role will support daily operations and help develop strategies to
improve availability and utilisation of Linux environments.
*Essential Functions:*
.Perform daily administration activities for all company Linux servers &
desktops.
.Install new servers.
.Implement administration standards and procedures.
.Perform system backups.
.Maintain and extend system monitoring frameworks.
.Support 24x7x365 data centre operations.
.Support application installation and monitoring solutions.
.Provide after hours on-call support.
.Deploy applications to internal and customer facing environments.
.Support internal development and production departments.
*Requirements:*
.A degree-level (or equivalent) qualification in Computing or
Information Systems.
.Experience managing over 30 servers preferably in a web environment,
including managing patches, monitoring, provisioning, backups etc.
.Good virtualisation and storage background; knowledge of Xen or Citrix
XenServer, RAID, iSCSI and SAN/NAS solutions.
.Strong Apache and related web technologies skills (load balancing,
caching, DNS).
.Strong security focus with some experience of penetration testing, and
awareness of common issues.
.Excellent knowledge of networking, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, DHCP,
HTTP, SMTP etc.) and firewalls.
.Ability to discuss\ communicate with\ to non-technical users IT matters.
**
*Preferred:*
.2+/5+ years Linux experience (Debian and/or Red Hat), with knowledge of
other Unixes (FreeBSD, Solaris etc.).
.Experience with SAN/NAS technology.
.Good working knowledge of Windows (client and server).
.RHCE or other professional certification.
.Some clustering experience (Heartbeat, DRBD, CARP etc.).
.Strong scripting skills, with Ruby experience highly desirable.
.Experience of using puppet or other configuration management tools.
