Hello,

Sirius Corporation is a services company specialising in Open Source 
Technologies. We work with companies such as Specsavers, Yellow pages, 
GDS and the UK Government. We are taking on a lot more project work at 
present and this has led to us needing to increase our staff numbers. We 
are currently recruiting for a Technical Architect to work in our Head 
Office in Weybridge, Surrey. Hours are 9-5.30 Monday-Friday. Details are 
below.

**Responsibilities*:

The Technical Architect is responsible for:

     scoping, implementing and delivering technical project works on 
time and to customer requirements
     working on the Sirius infrastructure in support of the business' 
objectives
     providing technical advice and knowledge transfer to the team
     setting an example to the Engineering team of how to deliver 
professionally and with technical excellence
     participating in workshops and technical trainings to provide 
professional development of the engineering team
     performing pre-sales activities as required

*Qualifications/Education*:

The TA should be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, or 
possess relevant practical experience.

**Training:*

LPI/RHCE/MCSE/CNE are all beneficial but not prerequisites.
*
**Knowledge Requirements:*

Experience of open source communities, and hands-on experience of open 
development.

Understanding of linux platforms (including kernel compilation, package 
management, desktop interfaces)

Practical experience of working in heterogeneous environments including 
Windows desktops and servers.

Practical knowledge of several of: PBX systems (Asterisk), directory 
services (OpenLDAP?, Active Directory), relational database management 
systems (Postgresql, MySQL), revision control systems (SVN, Git), 
network configuration and management (routing, DNS, DHCP, bind), 
monitoring (OpenNMS?, Nagios, Zabbix).

**Experience:*

Participation in technical software development communities.

Track record of deployment and delivery of solutions to customers.

Speaking at conferences, workshops, or delivering training.

**Other Requirements:*

Smart presentation

Professional demeanor

Able to prioritise under pressure

Delivery-driven approach

Willingness to both teach and learn
