As a Trainee Linux Systems Administrator you will be working within a Birmingham-based E-commerce company as they expand globally, and rapidly evolve their operations and infrastructure.
In order to be successful for this Linux Systems administrator role, you will need:
* Linux System System Admin knowledge (ideally Debian or Ubuntu) with most common protocols HTTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, etc
* An understanding of network infrastructure: switches, firewalls, etc.
* Strong analytical mind and problem solving skills
* Proficient in a scripting language. Bash, Perl
* An interest in expanding your skill set and a thirst for knowledge
As a Linux Sys Admin, you will be exposed to the following technologies:
* A Global Scale Web Infrastructure
* AWS (Amazon Web Services)
* MongoDB
* High Availability MySQL
* Devops principles and technologies
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Monitoring and maintaining a variety of servers internal and external
* General IT Support (provisioning users, desktop support, printers, networking)
* Supporting the Development Team and their Development Environments
* Setting up, monitoring and scaling a variety of systems ? MongoDB, MySQL, Sphinx
* Basic Windows/Mac Desktop support
