Linux Infrastructure Engineer/ 2nd/3rd line Linux/ Unix administrator/ RedHat specialist

Crawley, West Sussex

Essential skills:
*             Advanced IT support and delivery experience within the Linux/Unix environment, including Access Control management
*             Advanced IT support and delivery experience with Apache, Tomcat and SOLR
*             IT Support and delivery experience with VMware vSphere 5
*             Experience in defining infrastructure monitoring requirements on both bespoke and enterprise monitoring solutions
*             Strong Linux security and system hardening skills, including PCI-DSS Compliance
*             Experience working within a team environment delivering projects for production systems

Desirable Knowledge & Experience:
*             IT Support and delivery experience with MySQL.
*             Previous task planning experience
*             Network administration and support including, Traffic Analysis, Routers, Switches, Big-IP load balancers and Firewalls
*             Support and administration experience with server and storage hardware
*             Exposure to IT development teams and projects

Hybris support would be an advantage

About the role

The company has a large infrastructure estate which includes a large number of Linux servers. Being the key Linux engineer within the team you will be providing 2nd and 3rd line Linux support for their primary systems and high profile transactional websites.

Being one of the primary points of contact for Linux systems within the company you will provide day-to-day support to the business as well as leading the Linux aspect of any projects.
