Finally got a link (linked from a webpage referred to in this email from
Delia) to the TOS of the networks use.
Unfortunately (but not suprisingly at all!) the webpage is not available :)

Hello Vladimir,
I believe that you have been in correspondence with Rob Ward already about
registering your Mac, so I don’t need to join in with that side of the
discussion.
“Laptop clinic” is the terminology that the Helpdesk uses when talking about
the appointments we use. At the start of the semester a Laptop Clinic is are
advertised as ‘drop in’ sessions but once we are past the first few weeks of
term we change to an appointment system.
All users are strongly discouraged from using file sharing programs.

I would recommend that you speak to your module supervisor about the problem
with your chosen research topic.
Kind regards
Delia
And, sure, my reply to them:
Hello Delia!
With all the respect to contributing your time to resolve my issue, it seems
you are completely missing the point here.
Indeed I have been in correspondence with Rob Ward about registering my Mac
OSX.
But this is a different issue (Ref: TL180090). I want to register my Linux
machine, and not a Mac OS X.
And I have been advised yesterday to send an email to the helpdesk to
regarding this query. I have sent this email
once (which was ignored) and then the second time (Ref: TL180090).
So what is happening is that you make me go in circles. In the email I am
being advised to come down to the Helpdesk,
and there I am told to send an email.
I am more than willing to attend the appointment (what is the best time for
you, by the way?), thanks for clarifying what the appointment is as I
genuinely didn't know what the 'laptop clinic' term means.

And you seem to not have paid attention to the title of my research topic:
"Promoting new talent..."
This doesn't involve any sharing or downloading of the copyrighted material,
but instead sharing the music by the new unsigned
artists (myself included) on BitTorrent networks, MySpace, Last.fm, etc. I
am running a private BitTorrent tracker (outside of
University, of course) and MWS machines won't let me to connect to my
tracker.
I will speak to my supervisor, but the best he will be able to do, is to
give me an extention. Changing the research topic
is not an option with the deadline in mid-January.
Sincerely,
Vladimir
