Hi,
The SQL database is dumped daily and also copied off the machine to my
home server, so the data itself should be fine. I have not tried
restoring this SQL data specifically, but I did when moving to a Virtual
Machine and using mysqldump and mysqlrestore was relatively painless.
The current site is more of a concept than the real thing, so I am hoping
that if it is popular enough it would be moved onto the lug.org.uk servers
where more appropriate people (or just more people) can be given admin
access (obviously I am wary of giving people access to my own box).
Admins on the wiki and the forum are not a problem however, and I will set
them for willing volunteers. I will look into forum software now, it will
probably be phpBB as that looks relatively painless to set up and
administer.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll get back to you when it's set up.
-Anthony
