Wow. Even I didn't understand that, and I wrote it. Let's try again:
Note that 'hd2' refers to the first disk on the second controller (/dev/hdc
typically) and that the '1' in (hd2,1) refers to the SECOND partition
of that disk because grub numbers partitions from zero (so this would
typically refer to /dev/hdc2). Sorry about that.
